CommentIt seems rather strange that you have a website "beforeyoujoinup" which offers advice to young people who may have an inclination on to join the Forces. Don't you think it is rather biased when you have financial support from Quaker organisations; the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust and the Polden Puckham Charitable Foundation; "We are committed to a culture of peace and the creation of a peaceful world." & "We support the development of ways of resolving violent conflicts peacefully" additionally I read elsewhere about you: "We are grateful to David Gee and Elizabeth Allen for drawing up this testimony supporting our application to the European Court of Human Rights. They explain why it is entirely in keeping with Quaker Testimony, for conscientious objectors" Just seems rather juxtaposition? Response from BeforeYouSignUp.infoThanks for taking the trouble to send this feedback. Some of your points are answered on the common comments page. The BeforeYouSignUp.info project is committed to providing information that is accurate, balanced and accountable, presenting some of the main up-sides and down-sides of military careers. If you don't think the site succeeds in this then please let us know, explaining your reasons, and we will look into improving the service accordingly. The reason for having a website like this is that on enlisting young people enter a legally binding commitment that normally lasts for several years and it is therefore important that everyone knows as much as possible about the armed forces - good and bad - before making that commitment. The fact that the funders support 'the creation of a peaceful world' or that the website author has supported the right of conscientious objection is not in conflict with this.
